to clarify
now that i've had a nap, let me just say that the guys scott works with are all great guys. I always have a good time with the burkes, and going to joey's on thursday nights is always a highlight in my week, and i'm always excited when there's a chance to watch a game with dave. The 'bunch of morons' phenomenon only happens when somebody mentions the word Vegas. it's like saying to a ten year-old boy, i know you've been working really hard cleaning your room, but there's a chance i may have to go run an errend in a city made out of candy. are you sure you wouldn't rather come along? of course they would. especially if everyone else is going. and for anyone in the family who may be concerned, scott is always very responsible about going. He only goes when it doesn't conflict with other plans, and he would certainly never go if i told him not to. He's already turned down plenty of trips. It's just hard for me because i'm never really presented with a similar situation, and in this way i'm not so far from being childish myself. after all, what would happen if you walked up to a ten year-old girl and said, "wouldn't you like to finish cleaning up your brother's room so that he can go to a city made out of candy?" But sometimes it works out for both of us, and when it does, he goes and it's fine with me.
Two cheers for the witty, honest, shapley and valiant Julie! Two cheers for her manfriend Scott! And a cheer for Stanners who at some point has to give in to sleep.

I like when people talk about their bad day in blogs. I have a tendency to try and sweep bad days under the rug and present an idyllic picture of my life, so no one will think I am a bad guy for having a bad day.
